Mini-Documentary: Clover at Converse Rubber Tracks
Earlier this year, six unsigned bands visited a Converse Rubber Tracks recording studio in either Brooklyn, NY or Boston, MA, where they laid down some jams at one of Converse’s completely free, state-of-the-art facilities with producer Will Putney (The Acacia Strain, Suicide Silence, Exhumed) or Kurt Ballou (Converge, High on Fire, Torche), respectively. Bands signed up through an open application process on MetalSucks, then Axl and Vince worked with Will and Kurt to choose their favorites.
We have now released all six songs that bands recorded: Wvrm, Rile, Jesus Horse, Clover, Everything Went Black and Yashira. Stream them all here.
Metal Injection’s Frank Godla traveled to Kingston, NY to catch up with Clover in their home town and followed them through the recording process at CRT in Brooklyn with Will Putney. The resulting mini-documentary is a glimpse into the hard work this band has put in over the years, and the constant of struggle of what it’s like for any band trying to make a name for themselves.
