First Look at Some Images from the Upcoming Slayer Repentless Comic
As first reported in July, there’s a Slayer comic book on the way via metal-friendly comic house Dark Horse Comics.
It’s a three part series called Slayer: Repentless, and it’s based on the trilogy of music videos the band released to promote their latest album (watch: “Repentless,” “You Against You,” and “Pride in Prejudice”). The series was written by Jon Schnepp, best known to the metal community for his work on Metalocalypse. He also made a really fun documentary about Tim Burton’s aborted Superman movie, and is a regular over on the movie site Collider, where he regularly participates in debates about comic book movies and other such subjects of the utmost importance.
Now we get our first look at the comic… and, no surprise, it’s really fucking badass. Here are some shots:
Slayer as a redemptive wrecking crew? I love it.
You can read more about the comics here and here. Issue #1 of Slayer: Repentless #1 is available for preorder on the Dark Horse web site. It’s expected January 25th, 2017.
