Dream Theater Announce “Images and Words” 25th Anniversary Tour
Dream Theater’s breakthrough album Images and Words turns 25 next year. FUCK, I’m old. The members of Dream Theater are old, too, ranging in ages from 49 to 60! 1992 was a long time ago.
Dream Theater will celebrate the anniversary by playing the album in full on their upcoming European tour, along with other fan favorites. While it’s super-cool of DT to do this — and I’ll totally be there if/when they bring the show to New York — the album I’d really like to see performed in full is 1999’s Scenes From a Memory. Twenty year anniversary tour in 2019? Time to start planning!
No North American dates for the Images and Words run have been announced yet, but if the band’s 2016 touring schedule is any indication — the band premiered The Astonishing live in Europe first, then brought the show to the U.S. — hopefully there will be soon. Dates:
