One Last Post About a Metal Musician Hating Donald Trump Before the Election

0

As any metal website proprietor will tell you — shit, any editor of a website of any kind, period — posting about Donald Trump is an easy-peasy recipe for clicks. Simpler than making a blue Kraft box of mac and cheese, and even more popular than anything related to Metallica or some stupid shit Dave Mustaine or Ted Nugent said.

That said, I’m completely fucking ready for this election to be done with, and I’m tired of writing about it. It’s why we haven’t posted anything related to politics in the past several weeks. A metal blogger can only handle so much, ya know?

So: consider this the final Presidential election post on MetalSucks until this dumb, Satan-forsaken election is over with.

I’m still not sure who I’m voting for, by the way. Don’t worry, it won’t be Trump. I’m considering trading my Hillary Clinton vote to an independent party voter who lives in a swing state.

ANYWAY: Napalm Death’s Barney Greenway shared some words on Trump, Clinton and former candidate Bernie Sanders in a recent interview with Metal Wani, posted below. Transcription via Metal Insider:

“I have to say that I really liked what [former presidential hopeful] Bernie Sanders was, and is, about; I really did. There were so many things that he spoke about that really rang true with me and were the things that I always supported in the system over here [in the U.K.] as well.”

“I really struggle when it comes to the kind of situation that you’ve got now with the U.S. election. I mean, Trump is just… I just can’t take him seriously. I know he’s really offended a lot of people, but I think he’s so ludicrous in every way. And I just can’t believe that people would swallow that.

“Politicians always make this point of not insulting the electorate and they really make a big issue of that. But it doesn’t matter who you are. If you are really gullible enough to swallow some of the stuff that Trump says, given the position that he’s gonna be potentially presented with a couple of months on, I just don’t understand it. From a basic human perspective, it just doesn’t make any sense.

“So, yeah, it’s not gonna be good for anybody, I think, if he gets [elected president]. Because we have an interest in it too, because, like it or not, whatever happens in America has a domino effect elsewhere, so we all should be concerned about it.”

“Given the toss-up between Bernie Sanders and Hillary Clinton, obviously I’ve already said who I would really pitch for. But I think at this point, it’s a case of damage limitation for all of us, and I think it would be far preferable for everybody if she gets it. ‘Cause she’s gonna get it. The system’s not gonna collapse overnight. We have the system that we have, everywhere in the world, that is kind of a derivative of some kind of core system. And as much as, with my nonpolitical head on, or rather with my anti-mainstream-politics head on, I’d like to see the pillars come tumbling down, which would give everybody in the world a better chance at freedom and dignity and equality and stuff, it ain’t gonna happen. So I think the best thing for now is if Hillary Clinton was to win. I think that’s fairly obvious. So there you go.”

So there you go.

See you on the other side of Tuesday, everyone.
