Allegaeon Seek Financial Aid from Fans: “Calling it Quits is the Last Thing We Want to Do”
These would appear to be bleak times for Allegaeon, who are arguably one of the most underrated bands working in metal right now.
Last week, bassist Corey Archuleta quit the band, and now The PRP reports that the band has launched a Patreon page with the goal of reaching at least $5,000 in donations from fans per month. The reason? They’re on the verge of financial collapse.
You can watch the below video or read the band’s Patreon mission statement, but the gist of it is, the band isn’t making enough money to feed and house themselves, and will almost certainly have to break up if the situation doesn’t get better soon. Of course, there are rewards for donating beyond just helping the band stay together, ranging from a monthly Google Hangout to backstage and soundcheck access any time you go see the band.
Every dollar counts — the band will literally accept a donation as tiny as a dollar a month. (Please, hold your Sally Struthers jokes.) Learn more and make your donation here.
