Today: Brain Tentacles Take Over the MetalSucks Instagram Account!

That jazz fusion trio Brain Tentacles, who barely qualify as metal, are on tour with Gorguts and Intronaut right now shouldn’t be that surprising. For one, their music, despite lacking the usual metal tropes, is heavy; you don’t necessarily need blast beats and chug-a-chugs to hit hard, ya know? And then there’s the pedigree: saxophonist Bruce Lamont (Yakuza), drummer Dave Witte (Municipal Waste + every band ever) and bassist Aaron Dallison (Keelhaul). On top of all that, they’re progressive and avant garde, which meshes quite well with both of the their tourmates.

We’re very much digging the new Brain Tentacles album (listen here, order here) — and we’re VERY excited to see the tour in NYC this coming weekend — so we’ve decided to give Brain Tentacles the keys to our Instagram account all day today! Expect to see things such as the scintillating stretch of I-95 between Baltimore to Philadelphia, the glorious life of loading in one’s gear, and what the insides of Bruce Lamont’s saxophone look like.
