Stream The New Serpentine Dominion Album in Full (feat. Members of Cannibal Corpse, Killswitch Engage, ex-The Black Dahlia Murder)
We’ve been hearing about the new Serpentine Dominion album for so long now — years before the project even had a name — that it’s hard to believe the album is finally here.
But it is! Today is the day! The self-titled debut, a collaboration between George “Corpsegrinder” Fisher of Cannibal Corpse, Killswitch Engage guitarist Adam D. and ex-The Black Dahlia Murder drummer Shannon Lucas, has arrived. You can stream it below and order it via Metal Blade Records.
I’ve had a promo copy of this album for several weeks now so I’ve had a chance to sit with it, and here’s my tl;dr take: I really like it. In a way, it’s what I’ve been hoping Killswitch would do for years now, but haven’t: something different, even though Adam D. wrote it. It sounds like Adam D. but it doesn’t sound like Killswitch, if that makes sense. Corpsegrinder’s vocals add a death metal flare (with lyrics written by Jesse Leach!) and Lucas is a beast behind the kit. There are strong melodies, but there’s no dearth of complete brutality. It’s well-rounded a great listen through and through.
