Video: Damage Inc., the Cancelled Metallica Video Game

In 2012, we learned that in 2003, development work had been done for a Metallica-themed “a post apocalyptic racing” video game, Damage Inc., which would have been released in 2005. In 2016, we have some gameplay footage from Damage Inc., thanks to Ptoponline.com. It looks to me as though it the game was just a variation on one of dozens of other, similar titles — many cited as influences in the video below — with a Metallica license slapped on. But who knows, maybe there would have been more Metallica-specific content in the final version, like a level where you have to collect a ton of wah pedals for Kirk Hammett or find Lars Ulrich a phonebook to sit on or something like that.
