“Torch”: The Revamped Emmure are Moderately Better Than the Old Emmure
If you were hoping that having two former members of The Tony Danza Tapdance Extravaganza in the line-up would mark a major improvement to Emmure’s music, you hoped wrong. The never-ending breakdown that is the band’s new song, “Torch,” is slightly less atonal than the Emmure of old. But “The Lost & Damned” it ain’t. It feels like a criminal waste of Josh Travis. Frankie Palmeri might as well have hired this dude if he was just gonna keep shoveling the same old shit.
“Torch” will appear on Emmure’s new album, which doesn’t have a name or a release date yet, but will be out sometime in early 2017 on the band’s new label, Nuclear Blast/SharpTone.
