Video: Dave Mustaine Calls Out “Asshole” Fan at Megadeth Concert

Man, it seems like bands flipping out at asshole concertgoers has been epidemic lately. Disturbed’s David Draiman lost it at a texting fan, Slipknot’s Corey Taylor has thrown out assholes a couple of times recently, and Slayer’s Tom Araya had a dude ejected for spitting on him at Slayer’s free Comic-Con show.

Today, it’s Megadeth’s Dave Mustaine, who had a fan tossed from his band’s show at Moline, IL. As you can see from the video below, the fan yells something out at Dave, who takes offense at being interrupted and calls the guy a bunch of names:

Ugh. Dave’s tone is so obnoxious. At least Araya seemed reasonably pissed and didn’t make a big self-centered production out of it.

It makes you wonder: if this a new development, or are we just seeing it now thanks to everyone having a camera in their phone? I went to tons of shows as a kid and don’t remember anything like this level of bullshit going on (there was that time that skinhead called Lajon Witherspoon the N-bomb and Witherspoon jumped off the stage and beat his ass, but that was just one time, and it was way cooler than these examples). Are we just able to witness these occurrences after the fact more often, or are fans less inclined to treat the musicians they come to see with reverence?

Anyway, let this be a lesson to everyone: don’t interrupt Dave Mustaine, and try not to piss of musicians in general. Because we’ll post about it in the morning.
