Listen to an Early Mix of “Floods” from The Great Southern Trendkill 20th Anniversary Edition
It is absolutely insane that Pantera’s The Great Southern Trendkill is twenty years old. I remember when this album was the latest and most startling thing Pantera had ever put out, a vicious departure from the band’s previous steely thrash sound. Trendkill will always be the band’s extreme metal album.
To celebrate the album’s birthday, the band is releasing a special 20th Anniversary edition, and Guitar World has premiered one of the bonus tracks from it. It’s an early mix of the track “Floods,” and while it doesn’t sound that much different from the original, you can definitely hear how the song was made more lush and interesting during the mixing process. Seeing as we won’t be getting a Pantera reunion any time soon, this is the next-best thing.
Stream the early mix of “Floods” below. The 20th Anniversary edition of The Great Southern Trendkill drops October 21st via Rhino Records. RIP Dime.
