WSOU Picks of the Week: Serpentine Dominion, Finsterforst
Seton Hall University’s WSOU radio is the only all-metal, all-the-time station currently broadcasting in the US, and as been a force in metal for DECADES. It’s also streamable online from anywhere in the world! Each week, the staff of WSOU shares their picks for the heaviest of the heavy, as well as the station’s charts for that week, right here on MetalSucks. Enjoy:
Serpentine Dominion – “The Vengeance In Me” (Mike C)
Serpentine Dominion, the project featuring Adam D. of Killswitch Engage, George “Corpsegrinder” Fisher of Cannibal Corpse and Shannon Lucas, formerly of The Black Dahlia Murder — sounds exactly like you would think! Unsurprisingly, the combination of all their unique styles works really well! “The Vengeance in Me” rips, and I can’t wait to hear what the rest of the album sounds like. Hopefully they play some shows in the near future.
Finsterforst – “Auf Die Zwolf” (Dylan G)
Nothing says party music like blast beats and accordion. “Bottle Gods” by Finsterforst screams “best experienced sweaty and covered in beer.” With choruses and instrumentals similar to bands like Finntroll, you won’t get better folk metal than this.
