OH Look, It’s Asking Alexandra Covering Slipknot

Welp, this should be good for some debate: it’s Asking Alexandria covering Slipknot’s “Duality,” taken from Metal Hammer’s recently released covers compilation.

On the one hand, this is sure to piss the fuck out of metal purists. Not that Slipknot are exactly the tr00est of the tr00, but it almost seems like they’ve earned that status at this point, and plenty of haters are gonna claim that trash like Asking Alexandria shouldn’t be tainting a perfectly good Slipknot song.

On the other hand, are Asking Alexandria kind of not like a modern day Slipknot? A commercially successful, more easily palatable, gateway band that serves as many peoples’ introduction into metal. I don’t know if I agree, but that argument could certainly be made.
