“Pull Me Out”: Vagus Nerve (ex-God Forbid) Release New Song + Video
Sexcellent news: Vagus Nerve, the new* project featuring former God Forbid guitarist (and MetalSucks contributor!) Doc Coyle, were able to raise over seven grand from the crowdfunding campaign they launched last fall. The EP recorded with those funds, Visceral, will be out at the end of the month, and the band is promoting the ever-lovin’ shit out of it with the single and video, “Pull Me Out.”
By their own admission, Vagus Nerve have metal elements, but they’re not really a metal band. That being said, they’re not not a metal band. Anyone hoping for God Forbider will be disappointed, but Vagus Nerve are definitely still too heavy for your mom; there’s some pretty serious crunch n’ chunk here, along with the soaring vocal melodies and inescapable hook. Imagine the love child of the Deftones, A Perfect Circle, and Dredg, and you’ll have some idea of what “Pull Me Out” sounds like.
Of course, a better way to get a sense of what “Pull Me Out” sounds like is just to listen to “Pull Me Out.” Which you can, and should, do below! If you dig it as much as I do, Visceral will be out September 30. Pre-order it here!!!
*Ish. They formed in 2011, but since Visceral is their debut, I think it’s still fair to count them as new.
