Chthonic’s Freddy Lim Met with the Dalai Lama

You may recall that back in January, Freddy Lim, vocalist for Taiwan’s Chthonic, was elected Legislator in the fifth district of Taipei as part of his own political party, the youth-oriented New Power Party. Now, as part of that position, Lim has met with the Dalai Lama, presumably making Gorguts’ Luc Lemay totally jelly.

The meeting between Lim and His Holiness took place in the town of Dharamsala in India, and the subject of discussion was Lim’s Taiwan Parliamentary Group For Tibet. This was actually the third meeting meeting between Misters Lim and Lama, but their first since Lim was elected to office.

Says Lim of the meeting:

“The people of Taiwan have always been concerned with human rights violations in Tibet. However, the government has kept quiet about abuses.

“As the civil society and our younger generation gain more influence, it is time for Taiwan to strengthen its participation for human rights on the world stage and building trust and friendship with the people of Tibet is our way to begin.”

I’ve heard that Lim and the Lama also discussed His Holiness’ favorite breakdowns, as well as the likelihood of Dave Mustaine being reincarnated as an African woman. But I’ve been unable to confirm these rumors.
