Listen: Macy Gray Covers Metallica’s “Nothing Else Matters”
So Macy Gray has a new album called Stripped coming out, and the whole thing was “recorded live on high resolution audio in a decommissioned Brooklyn church around one binaural microphone,” which is kinda neat.
Also kinda neat: the album features a jazzy cover of Metallica’s “Nothing Else Matters.” It’s pretty good! It definitely works as a fine example of how a good melody and a strong hook are basically unfuckwithable regardless of the genre into their which placed. Even if you hate Macy Gray and/or jazz music, I recommend giving it a shot.
Which you can do below! And if you like it, Stripped will be out September 9 on Chesky Records. And if you don’t like it… maybe you’ll enjoy Ms. Gray’s 2010 collaboration with Velvet Revolver more?
