Exclusive Track Premiere: Fuck the Facts Cover Helmet’s “Role Model”

Here’s an awesome idea: take fifteen cutting edge modern metal bands and get them to each recorded one song fro Helmet’s legendary Meantime (alongside some other Helmet classics, too — Meantime only has ten cuts on it). Sweet concept, right? Actually, it’s a sweet reality: next month, Magnetic Eye Records will release Meantime [Redux], a cover-to-cover recreation of Helmet’s most revered release (Magnetic Eye actually releases one such tribute to an influential album every year, which is pretty cool!). Bands that participated in the creation of the album include such extreme music luminaries as KEN Mode, Rosetta, Fashion Week, Meek is Murder…

…and Fuck the Facts, whose version of “Role Model” MetalSucks is happy to be debuting today! This is exactly the kind of cover about which metal fans dream: it’s not a bland and unnecessary recreation of the original, but a true reinterpretation. In other words, it strikes the perfect balance of old and new!
