Video: Mark Tremonti (Alter Bridge, Creed, Tremonti) Reacts to Brutal Metal
Little known fact: Mark Tremonti, guitarist of Alter Bridge, Creed and his own band Tremonti, is a legit metalhead. We know… you really wouldn’t expect it. But it’s true! And we found out the hard way.
We’d long known that the guy is a super-skilled guitarist — yeah yeah, we know, Creed. but seriously, check his work in Alter Bridge and his solo band! — but it wasn’t until this 2014 interview that we learned about his life-long love affair with Slayer, his teenage upbringing on black metal and his recent worship of Gojira.
So we decided to put Tremonti’s alleged metal cred to the test: at Alter Bridge’s August 2nd tour stop in Virginia Beach, VA, MetalSucks video correspondent Brian Storm sat down with the axeman to play him a specially concocted playlist of some of the most brutal metal tracks of all time — and a few decidedly un-brutal cuts, to shake things up — and we filmed his reactions and commentary.
<clickbait>WHAT YOU FIND INSIDE MAY SHOCK YOU</clickbait>. [No but seriously: YOU WON’T BELIEVE WHICH BRUTAL ALBUM TREMONTI ALREADY HAD HANDY ON HIS IPHONE…]
Watch the video below to see Tremonti’s reactions to Infant Annihilator, Cannibal Corpse, Venom, Revocation… uh, Motionless in White… and more.
Alter Bridge’s new album The Last Hero comes out October 7th. Listen to the first single “Show Me a Leader.”
