“Clap Like Ozzy”: Listen to Suicidal Tendencies’ First Song with Ex-Slayer Drummer Dave Lombardo

King and Araya’s loss is Mike Muir’s gain: as originally revealed in May, Dave Lombardo, who has been touring with Suicidal Tendencies since February, will also appear on the band’s new album, World Gone Mad.

Now ST have released the first single from that album, “Clap Like Ozzy,” which is also our first taste of the band with Lombardo in a studio capacity.

So how is it? Uh… fine? I may be the wrong person to ask — I stopped buying new Suicidal Tendencies records after The Art of Rebellion. This song seems less distinctive to me than Suicidal at the peak of their powers; it’s a fine crossover song, but I don’t know what’s supposed to set it apart from the pack.
