Listen to Opeth’s New Song, “Sorceress”

Roughly half an hour before debuting the new Dillinger Escape Plan song, “Limerent Death,” the BBC debut a new Opeth song, “Sorceress.” The track is our first taste of the band’s new album of the same name.

And y’know what? I really dig it — and I say that as someone who generally hasn’t really enjoyed Opeth since they went into what Vince recently categorized as their “Yes-worshipping ’70s prog machine” phase. Is that because I’m getting less aggro in my old age, or is it because the song is just that good?
