Video: Marilyn Manson’s Hershey, PA, Show Was Worse Than We Thought

Last week, I wrote about how Marilyn Manson was looking pretty bad in two videos that had surfaced of recent appearances. One of those videos was a clip from his July 10th show in Hershey, PA, where Manson was stumbling around the sound booth and barely performing.

Well, now another video of that same concert has come to our attention, and wow, we don’t even know where to begin. Dude looks like he needs help.

You can watch the video below, but the basics are, Manson introduces “The Dope Show” with a rambling, incoherent speech about how schizophrenia is like having an orgy with yourself until a roadie brings him a blazer to wear. He then performs the song looking exhausted and annoyed the entire time, pours a beer on his mic stand, and ends things by saying the following:

“I don’t want to fall onto my dick with that cord… so can you fix it, please. And don’t give me that uppity look, because you’re not black.”

I guess this would be racist if it made any sense. The word “uppity” certainly has loaded connotations regarding the history of black people in America, but with how Manson’s using it, it just raises a lot of questions about what the Hell he’s trying to say. Are black people allowed to give Manson an “uppity” look? Was he talking to someone in particular, who he thought was looking uppity?Was he drinking white wine at the time?

More importantly, this dude needs to get his act together. Watching this video is pretty sad–this dude is wasted, and it isn’t helping him in the slightest–and as I stated during the last post, it could be cool to see what a sober and coherent Manson could do. Hopefully, he’ll get his chemical dependencies sorted out.
