Ghoul Hit the Graveyard Skate Park and “Shred the Dead”
Sometimes, a band releases another song from their new album, and it’s like, We get it, just release the damn thing already. But that’s not the case with Dungeon Bastards, the new record by Creepsylvania’s Ghoul, because every new track we’ve heard from this album has been better than the last. So when I saw that the band had released a new track today titled “Shred The Dead”, I was quick to get writing about it.
And I was right to do so, because “Shred the Dead” fucking ruuuules. It’s less death metal-oriented than the last new track, “Bringer of War,” was–instead, it’s just a straight-forward face-kicking splatterthrash track about fighting zombies with skateboards.
The band had the following to say about the song:
“’Shred the Dead’ is a song about undead fiends, eldritch, mysterious skateboard tricks, and the efficacy of the prevent defense. If Mr. Mustaine is reading this, I’m sure our lawyers can work something out. You seem like a reasonable man.”
I don’t know what’s funnier–the idea of eldritch skateboard tricks or the idea that Dave Mustaine is a reasonable man.
Throttle your cranium to “Shred the Dead” below. Dungeon Bastards drops 7/29 via Tankcrimes. Pre-order it here, and see if you can still catch the band on their current tour with Carcass.
