Vince is Going to Germany! Let’s Hang Out!
In less than a week, your own MetalSucks Co-Editor-in-Chief Vince Neilstein will be heading to Germany for a week of fun times and metal hangs.
The destination: Prophecy Fest, a festival put on by German metal label Prophecy Productions now in its second year. The festival takes place over two days, July 29th and 30th, in the small town of Balve. And get this: it’s IN A FUCKING CAVE. No, not beside a cave, in front of one, or in view of one… IN A FUCKING CAVE. Check out this photo, and the one above, from last year’s festival:
Like I said… IN A FUCKING CAVE.
I’ll be hanging at the festival both days, and I’ll likely be pretty easy to spot — I’ll be the American dude with the two other Americans. There are also plenty of photos of me around the Internet, so search those if you’re curious and say hi if you see me or just stalk me awkwardly if you prefer.
After the festival ends I’ll be heading by train to Berlin, and I’ll be there from Sunday, July 31 through Wednesday, August 3rd. And I would love to hang out with any MetalSucks readers we have in Berlin! Show me your favorite spots, metal or otherwise, your best food, your finest views. Let’s do this thing. If you’re interested, email vince[at]metalsucks[dot]net with VINCE DOES GERMANY in the subject line.
Finally, check out the lineup for this year’s Prophecy Fest. I haven’t heard of most of these bands, and that might be the most exciting part of it (aside from it being IN A FUCKING CAVE): getting to hear completely new music, live, the way it’s meant to be heard, with no preconceptions. I’ve checked out some of the bands briefly and I can already tell it’s going to be a mind-expanding festival.
