AC/DC Land in Top Twenty of Forbes‘ Annual List of Highest-Paid Celebrities
Forbes has published its annual list of the world’s one-hundred highest paid celebrities, and you may or may not care to know that two bands of the hard rock and metal variety made the cut: AC/DC, who came in at #17 with $67.5 million, and the Foo Fighters, who landed at #45 with a mere $48.5 million. Maybe they should change their name to the Food Stamp Fighters, amirite?
[clears throat]
Just for reference, that makes AC/DC the seventh highest-paid musical act overall, and the Foos the twenty-first. And if you wanna get really specific, it makes AC/DC the year’s highest paid rock band, ahead of The Rolling Stones, Bruce Springsteen, and U2, amongst others. So that’s pretty impressive. I guess having Axl Rose in the band isn’t proving to be a detriment after all.
Music acts that came in ahead of AC/DC include Rihanna (#13), Adele (#9), One Direction (#2), and Taylor Swift, this year’s highest earning celebrity overall. AC/DC also came in behind Garth Brooks (#15), who I honestly did not realize was still a thing.
You can check out the complete list here. Anyone else shocked that James friggin’ Patterson is #3? Jeezy creezy!
