The Rumored Release Date for the New Metallica Album Is…
…October 14!
This according to the German newspaper Bild. Neither the band nor the label has confirmed the date, however.
To review, here’s everything we know about the record thus far:
- It’s done being recorded.
- It’s being mixed by Greg Fidelman, the same dude who did such a bang-up job on Death Magnetic.
- Lars Ulrich has compared it to Master of Puppets.
Don’t get too excited by that last bit, though — remember, this is the guy who promised that Lulu would make “… And Justice for All sound like the first Ramones album,” so he’s maybe not the best critic of his own work.
We’ll let you know when/if the October 14 release date becomes officially official. In the meantime, here’s the one new song we’ve heard, which may or may not actually be on the album.
