Converse Now Makes All-Star Sneakers with a Wah Wah Pedal Built In
In the early ’90s no shoes were cooler than LA Gear’s light-up sneakers, which had red LEDs in the sole that flashed on step impact. That’s how it was on the middle school playground, anyway, although in retrospect I can’t recall ever seeing anyone over the age of 14 wearing these:
Now Converse has taken the electronics-inside-a-shoe game to the next level, and the appeal expands far beyond those playing asses up: they’ve made a version of their classic Chuck Taylor All-Star sneaker with a wah wah pedal inside of it. Yup, that’s right: now every time you walk into the room you can be accompanied by your own personal sexy entrance music.
Watch the demo of an early prototype below, in which the sneaker has input and output jacks for a guitar and amp (newer versions do it all wirelessly via Bluetooth). These sneakers aren’t available to the public yet, but we’ll be sure to get our hands on a pair and have some fun with them as soon as they are.
