Big Business Return to Original Duo Lineup with New Track “Father’s Day”
Big news for Big Business fans: a new album is on the way! And there’s a new song for you all to listen to right now called “Father’s Day.”
Command Your Weather will be the first new Big Business album since Battlefields Forever in 2013, and sees the band return to its original two-man lineup of Jared Warren on bass and Coady Willis on drums (both are also current members of the Melvins, and Willis is an original member of The Murder City Devils and plays in the all-drumming project Hew Time with Dale Crover and Joe Plummer). They describe the upcoming release as “an album about the struggle for dominance of will over the power and unpredictability of nature… or just a really great rock record.”
I’m not a big enough fan of Big Business to know how fans regard guitarist Scott Martin’s time in the band (or that of Toshi Kasai, who left in 2012), but at the very least I’m sure some will be stoked for the return to the original two-piece configuration. To these ears, anyway, the new track fucking rips.
Check out “Father’s Day” below and see what you think. Command Your Weather comes out July 8th on Joyful Noise; pre-order here.
