Warbeast Announce New Album Produced by Phil Anselmo

It’s been a while since we hear from killer death-thrash band Warbeast, which makes sense given that last year it was announced that frontman Bruce Corbitt was suffering from heart problems and guitarist Drew Shoup suffered a gruesome hand injury.

But yesterday, the band announced that they were in the process of writing their third full-length… and that it will be produced by Phil Anselmo.

The band posted the following on Facebook:

Anselmo is the obvious choice for the band, given that he produced their last two albums, and that the band are still signed to Anselmo’s own Housecore Records. That said, this will Anselmo’s first production project since his racist outburst at Dimebash.

And look, I understand that we cannot deny the dude his talent–Anselmo’s a fantastic musician and producer. That new Scour track rules. But Dimebash has made him a dividing figure. If you stand by Phil or stand against him, you’re making a statement, whether you like it or not. And no, that doesn’t mean you’re either for or against racism, just that you’re either for or against giving Phil Anselmo another chance, or ignoring the mistakes he’s made.

Meanwhile: new Warbeast album. Fucking awesome. Can’t wait to wreck my neck. Keep your eyes peeled for it.
