“High Horse”: Oceans Ate Alaska, Boredom Ate My Interest

As evidenced by their new video, “High Horse,” the most creative thing about Oceans Ate Alaska is their name: while the formula for a successful metalcore moniker is usually Verb the Noun (e.g., Protest the Hero, Pierce the Veil, Haste the Day, Destroy the Runner, Toss the Salad, etc.), Oceans Ate Alaska is Noun Verb Noun. WOW! Truly amazing. But everything else about this band is second rate.

Well, that’s not entirely true: the singer’s dance moves are totally fly, too.
