If These Trees Could Talk Are Covered in Mud From Finding the “Earth Crawler”

If These Trees Could Talk have been slaying the instrumental game since their first album all the way back in 2009, which we lauded here at MS HQ. The band put two records out before signing with Metal Blade last year, 2009’s Above the Earth, Below the Sky and Red Forest in 2012, both of which were re-released by Metal Blade after the signing. Now they’ll release their first album for their new label, entitled The Bones of a Dying World, and today we have a sample of said album for you in the form of a track called “Earth Crawler.”

“Earth Crawler” is a very ambient and soft song, which seems rather appropriate for a song with such a name. Maybe it’s just me, but all I can think about when I listen to this is a very relaxed earthworm just smoking a bowl. Maybe he’s tired of digging tunnels all damn day. Maybe he’s just pondering his place in the universe. You know, as much as a worm brain can contemplate existence.

The Bones of a Dying World drops June 3 via Metal Blade. You can pre-order it here.
