Let Chain Subway Stab the Shit Out of You

Yesterday, I saw a tweet from Grim Kim hailing NYC heavy metal rockers Chain, and figured I’d give them a listen; after all, the band only has one song.

Then I listened to that song on repeat about seven times in a row, because damn does Chain fucking rule.

Like Denver’s Poison Rites, Chain play traditional rock with a driving beat and awesome guitars. But unlike Poison Rites, Chain feel no need to lean towards the rawness of garage rock. These guys play metal, fast and loose and dirty just like grampa used to like it. There are notes of High Spirits, Exciter, and old Iron Maiden on here that just kick tons of ass. The Hell’s Headbangers crowd should definitely look into these dudes.
