Unsigned and Unholy: Final Drive Will Hook You Harder Than the Candyman
I have an incredibly negative bias towards any and all things St. Louis. I hate their arch, I hate their baseball team and I hate everything else in that city. So when I saw Final Drive last Monday you could imagine how shocked I was that something so good could come out of a place I dislike so much.
Anyone who likes Pantera, Slayer or any other sort of fast-paced, southern, groovy, thrashy auditory assault — aka all of you — should love Final Drive. These guys have a lot of energy on stage, and all their riffs are super catchy and incredibly easy to bang your head to. What more can you ask for?
I just caught these guys on Monday night after my weekly outing to McNally’s Irish Pub turned into going to a metal show that I wasn’t even aware was being played. I ended up with the best of bangovers, which I still have even as I write this, proving once again that going to local shows pays off; you never know when you’ll find a new band to love.
But don’t just take my word for it; check them out below and give them a follow on Facebook.
