Watch Monuments Guitarist John Browne Play an Unreleased Track
I was wondering how far into my week I’d have to wait for something djenty, and as it turns out I only had to wait until Tuesday to tell everyone that YES IT DJENTS. But what exactly is it that djents this time around? It would be Monuments’ John Browne doing a playthrough of “Stygian Blue,” a track off their upcoming third album, which will be released sometime later this year. Rest assured, everybody, the song is as catchy as their previous album title, The Amanuensis, is difficult to pronounce. And maybe it’s just me, but that guitar has sexier curves than some of the college girls at Mizzou do. And believe me, there are some smoking hot women in Columbia. It’s this city’s only saving grace.
Anyway, I don’t listen to much Monuments but this song is going to change that. The quality of this playhrough is great and if I had only listened to the audio rather than watched the video, I would have just assumed that it came straight from the album other than the fact that there are no vocals. Gotta love it when bands can actually play their instruments, right? CoughcoughRingsofSaturncoughcough. But don’t just take my word for it. See for yourself.
