Coffin Dust Will Drag You Into “The Living Coffin”
When it comes to classic Autopsian death metal, Pennsylvania’s Coffin Dust deliver the goods. They hit that awesome middle ground between burbling pus-bubble nastiness and wonky seasick riffiness, so that the music is still interesting even as it sounds like a festering wound.
The band’s new track, “The Living Coffin,” is a perfect example of this. On the one hand, it’s a pretty traditional death metal song, appeasing fans of all things guttural and gross; on the other, it doesn’t get lost in a bunch of blastbeats and noisy production, so you can still hear some of the atmosphere and creepy-crawliness that the band are going for.
Listen to the track below. The band’s new full-length album, Everything Is Dead (nice), drops May 6th on Unholy Anarchy Records. If you’re interested in feeling like you might get stabbed in the woods, catch them at the Shadow Woods Metal Fest this fall.
