Forgotten Tears Don’t Give a Fuck What You Think About Them

I’m not going to lie, it’s been a really, really long time since I’ve seen a music video and thought “Wow, that wasn’t the dumbest fucking thing I’ve seen all day.” That is because most music videos these days, especially metal music videos, are just artsy shots of a band playing with little else going on. Sure, the budgets for music videos have gone down drastically over the years, but still. It’s boring.

Forgotten Tears, however, have broken this trend with the music video for their song “#WDGAF.” This video combines the band playing (of course) with the elements of a lyric video by having the lyrics show up as mean YouTube comments on the page for their video. You read that correctly. If you watch this video on YouTube, you’re watching a YouTube video of a YouTube video…. inside a dream within a dream within a dream. Thanks, Leo. The song itself is pretty catchy and rather humorous, though, so it’s not all novelty. But given the name of the song, it’s unlikely that Forgotten Tears would care about my, or your, opinion about it anyway.
