Schammasch Want You to Buy a Dictionary for “Metanoia”
Have you described anything using the words “ominous as fuck” today? If not, then you are oh so in luck because that’s exactly what Schammasch’s new single, “Metanoia,” sounds like. Ominous, and what I assume is the auditory equivalent of what the brain feels like as it’s flooded with DMT while someone dies. The point hear is that the song is dreary and depressing, but in the good kind of way.
What’s even more interesting is that not only is this song eight minutes long, but according to the press release, the entire album will be 100 minutes, spread out over three 33-minute discs. That’s pretty nuts. Between the Buried and Me are known for having long albums but they haven’t ever put out anything like this. But hey, who cares. It’s like getting three albums instead of one and more good music is never a bad thing.
“Metanoia” comes off Schammasch’s upcoming album “Triangle,” which drops April 29 via Prosthetic. You can listen below and preorder here.
