Guns N’ Rumors: Reunited Axl/Slash/Duff to Play Intimate L.A. Club Show Tomorrow?
After literally decades of being just a little patient, the wait is almost over: next week, the reunion between founding Guns N’ Roses members Axl Rose, Slash, and Duff McKagan begins in Las Vegas. Those fans, many of whom shelled out thousands of dollars to attend, will be the first to see the famous trio perform together since 1993.
Except, er, they may not be the first: there’s a rumor going around that the band are going to play a surprise warm-up gig at a Los Angeles club TBA. Bring Back Glam! points out that tomorrow was supposed to be the evening of former GN’R drummer Steven Adler’s solo performance at The Whiskey… a performance which was cancelled due to “a big announcement.” At the time, we all assumed that announcement was that Adler would be part of the reunion, but it seems plausible that the announcement is the GN’R show, without Adler (but hopefully with — it would so sad if Guns both bumped his show and didn’t include him in their performance).
Bring Back Glam! also points out that tomorrow is April 1. So this could all be some joke.
Obviously, we’ll know the answer by Saturday morning. I’m usually skeptical about Guns-related rumors, because there are so many of them at any given moment. But this sounds like exactly the kind of thing GN’R would do… and it would certainly make for a grand publicity stunt to officially announce the itinerary for their upcoming tour.
More details as we get ’em…
