Few bands can blend malignance and groove with the skill of Brooklyn’s Primitive Weapons. For proof, look no further than their new jam “Ashes or Paradise,” which we are beyond thrilled to be debuting right here on MetalSucks. The song is powered by a riff that’s basically like a horny, rabid junkyard dog with a weight problem: it is at once chunky, lubricious, infectious, and just plain old mean. And it’s just a small taste of the goodies Primitive Weapons offer on their new album, The Future of Death: like a great cleansing fire, this is a record which will make you feel very, very good about feeling very, very bad. “Cathartic” barely begins to describe it.

Do yourself a favor and check out “Ashes or Paradise” below! The Future of Death comes out April 15 via Party Smasher Inc., the multi-faceted company founded by The Dillinger Escape Plan guitarist Ben Weinman. Keep your eyes peeled here for pre-orders.

The band will also play at Saint Vitus in Brooklyn on April 15 as part of a dual record release show/Saint Vitus fifth anniversary party. Also appearing on the bill will be Pallbearer and Sannhet! The show is already sold out but maybe there’s someone you can beg for a ticket or something? It’s gonna be a helluva night…
