Deftones Stream New Track “Doomed User”

Last week, we posted some live footage of a new Deftones track called “Doomed User.” Well, the band has now streamed the new track via Sirius XM. You can listen to it here.

Overall, the song is what you expect from modern-day Deftones. Perhaps more interesting is Chino Moreno’s description of it:

“It’s got a rockin’ rhythm and a high tech sound that will make you shake your body down to ground.”

Ha! What? Dude, “Doomed User” certainly could be the soundtrack to a lot of activities — breaking everything in your childhood bedroom, doing a lot of unpleasant drugs, et cetera — but at no point does it make me want to shake my tailfeather. You’re not Clutch. And that’s the way it should be! No one wants to get their rockin’ boogie on to Deftones.

Anyway, if you dig on “Doomed User”, it goes on sale as a single tomorrow. Gore drops April 8th. The band heads out on tour in May, so catch them at one of these dates.
