This Bring Me the Horizon Song Blows, but the Video is Kind of Cool
Man, Bring Me the Horizon are such a mixed bag. One minute they’re thirstily trying to get Coldplay’s attention, the next they’re poking fun of themselves on TV. I wish they’d go in one direction or the other, so I could either like or dismiss them.
Case in point is the band’s new video for “Follow You.” One the one hand, the video is a gore-soaked image of the apocalypse that displays how to wisely use budget to get across a grandiose scene. It displays everything you expect from the end of the world, from rioting to zombies, and does so surprisingly well.
But on the other hand, man, “Follow You,” the song itself, is emo garbage at its most insipid, and the Glee reject dancing around to it in the video is the most obnoxious douchebag alive. It makes you realize why Oli Sykes is so adamant about Coldplay noticing his band — he obviously wants BMTH to move into that arena of accessible bullshit pop that hoodie-clad pretty boys can bop around to.
Anyway, watch “Follow You” below, at least for some of the visuals.
