Don’t Wait ‘Til “Dawn’s First Light” to Check Out the New Amon Amarth Song + Video
Amon Amarth have premiered a new song, “At Dawn’s First Light,” via the below music video. The clip portrays an attack (…at dawn’s first light, duh) on what a press release tells me is “a Slavic settlement from the 9th-10th century.” But the track actually appears about halfway through the band’s new concept album about “love and revenge,” Jomsviking. So I guess this is the “revenge” part?
ANYWAY, the video is extremely fun (if you’ve ever wanted to watch Amon Amarth perform while being shot with arrows, here’s your chance!) and extremely gory (and therefore probably NSFW). You will enjoy it:
Jomsviking is out March 25 on Metal Blade (pre-orders here). Meanwhile, the band is unveiling a digital picture book piecemeal, one track a day until the album’s release, on their official website. Each track page includes lyrics, booklet images, and song clips, so you may wanna check that shit out, too.
The band goes on tour with Entombed A.D. and Exmortus in April; get dates here.
And finally: don’t forget to check out our chat with Amon Amarth vocalist Johan Hegg on The MetalSucks Podcast! Dude gives good interview.
