Melvins are All About That Bass

The latest Melvins offering is entitled Basses Loaded, and no, that’s not a typo: the album is called that because it’s going to feature six different bassists. SIX! And, yeah, they’re all-star bassists, including Krist Novoselic (Nirvana), J.D. Pinkus (Butthole Surfers), Jared Warren (Big Business), and Steve McDonald (Redd Kross). Unfortunately, at no point on the album will all six bass players rock out at once. Fortunately, the band took the silly “bases/basses” joke all the way to its natural conclusion: the album will feature of a cover of “Take Me Out to the Ballgame.”
