Wrong Prove it’s the Right Time to be a Fan of Noise Rock with “Turn In”
Yeesh, is 2016 a fun time to be a fan of old-school noise metal or what? There’s a new supergroup featuring members of Today is the Day and Unsane, Whores just signed with the biggest friggin’ independent label there is, and bands like Wrong exist.
What’s more, it all feels wholly relevant! All of the above have captured the attention of not only all us graybeards who were around the first time this stuff hit, but of the youth, too. The nearly sold-out Whores show I attended at Saint Vitus a couple weeks back had as many 20-somethings in the room as 30- and 40-somethings. It was miraculous.
The aforementioned Wrong are the latest to make waves in the budding noise revival. The band features former members of Capsule, Torche and Kylesa, as we learned last year when they released the Stop Giving EP via Robotic Empire. Now they’ve moved up to the bigs and signed with Relapse, and they’ll release their self-titled, full-length debut on April 29th. Listen to album track “Turn In” below via Noisey and get on it.
