Listen to “Sleeping Dogs,” Zakk Wylde’s “First” “New” “Solo” Song in Twenty Years
Zakk Wylde has released “Sleeping Dogs,” the first single from Book of Shadows II, which is his first solo album since 1996’s Book of Shadows, so long as you don’t count anything from Black Label Society or Pride and Glory as solo material despite all of the music and lyrics for those bands being written by Zakk. The song has drums and bass, neither of which, I’m assuming, were recorded by Zakk, so I guess that’s the difference between a BLS album and a Zakk Wylde solo album: the rhythm section gets even less credit than usual.
ANYWAY, all of this weird, nonsensical categorization bullshit aside, the song ain’t bad. It’s nothing we haven’t heard Mr. Wylde do before, but if you appreciate his more sensitive side, I can’t imagine you won’t enjoy this.
Listen to “Sleeping Dogs” below. Book of Shadows II comes out April 8 on eOne.
