Gridlink Guitarist Takafumi Matsubara on the Mend from Infection/Inflammation of the Brain
It seems like metal has plagued by a lot of bad news recently, and a lot it related to health of various musicians. So it is with great pleasure that I report this good– nay, GREAT! — turn of events: two years after announcing that he’d have to stop playing guitar as the result of a serious infection/inflammation of the brain, Gridlink guitarist Takafumi Matsubara appears to be getting better:
Matsubara’s bandmate in both Gridlink and Hayaino Daisuki, John Chang, had previously reported that Matsubara “has lost significant dexterity and control of his left hand, including the complete paralysis of his middle finger.” Hopefully, Matsubara’s reacquisition of this control is permanent. This dude should still have years and years making killer music ahead of him.
