Listen: Classic Metal Songs by Metallica, Sabbath, Ozzy, Slayer, and Pantera Tuned WAYYYYY Down
Props to our sister site, Gear Gods, for bringing this to our attention: guitarist Andrew Baena has transposed five classic metal riffs down to F# to give us some sense of how those songs may have sounded had there been eight-string guitars at the time of their recording. Although not quite the mindfuck that Metallica’s “Nothing Else Matters” in a major scale is, the results are still interesting.
