Ghost Win the “Best Metal Performance” GRAMMY Award for “Cirice”
The folks who select the nominees for the “Best Metal Performance” GRAMMY Award finally got it right this year, or at least closer to right than the hilariously out-of-touch nominations of years past. Say what you will about Slipknot, Ghost, Lamb of God, Sevendust and, uh, August Burns Red, but at least all of those bands have some relevance in the modern metal scene.
But, unfortunately, metal still isn’t important enough for the big time, and the award for “Best Metal Performance” has already been given out in the pre-telecast ceremony. As such, as we already know who the winner is despite the TV broadcast not starting for another hour.
As you already know from the headline, that winner is Ghost. And, honestly, they deserve it! “Cirice” is certainly the best song Ghost have ever written, and there’s no question it’s one of the best / most catchy songs of the year in all of metal, too. Whether you think “Cirice” deserves the nod over, say, Lamb of God’s “512” is just a matter of personal taste, so let’s take this moment to appreciate a job well done and congratulate Ghost on the award. Great work, dudes!
Gee, wonder if that “For Your Consideration” ad Ghost bought in Billboard Magazine had anything to do with the outcome?
