“This Won’t Take Long” To Listen to the New UXO Track (Today is the Day, Unsane)
Noise rock/metal is totally IN right now. With bands like Whores, Pigs, Wrong, Turnstile and Wild Throne heavily referencing noisey ’90s jams in their music, metal fans are flocking to bands like them en masse — and, as a fan of that stuff the first time around, it’s super cool to see happening.
So perhaps the time is perfect for the genre’s forebears to enjoy a resurgence in popularity. UXO — the new collaboration between noise rock icons Steve Austin (Today is the Day) and Chris Spencer (Unsane) — have released a new track called “This Won’t Take Long,” following one called “Trauma” they released a couple of weeks ago and another called “Redlegs.” It’s pissed and it’s gnarly and it’s fierce, and it’s everything you’d expect from music written by Austin and Spencer, who at this point are basically legends.
UXO have some shows coming up around the Northeast. Dates here.
