Guns N’ Roses Announce Two Vegas Shows
The internal debate myself and a lot of other GN’R megafans I know are having right now is this: should I try to go see the semi-reunited version of the band at Coachella? It isn’t so much that these shows will be historic as it that, since a tour still hasn’t been announced and the relationship between Axl Rose and Slash is assumed to be, um, volatile, it could very well be our only chance to see this latest incarnation of the group.
But this oughta pretty much end that internal debate:
The newly-built T-Mobile Arena in Vegas holds 20,000 people; the last time the Slash-less GN’R played Vegas, it was for a nine-show residency at The Joint in the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, which holds about 4,000 people. In other words, more people will see this version of the band in two nights than saw that version of the band in nine.
ANYWAY, this bodes well for a tour… and these shows will take place before Coachella, making the Coachella performances somewhat less historic.
I’m still holding out hope for some warm-up shows in smaller venues, though…
