“Ace of Space” is The Bowie/Motörhead Mash-Up You’ve Been Waiting For

There was a certain sad poetry to the deaths of Lemmy Kilmister and David Bowie happening to close to one another. Bowie and Lemmy were like two faces of the same coin, one side glittery and alien, the other matte black and very human. More than that, both were as pure as rock stars could be–neither had done a shitty reality show, or released a bad nu metal album, or pretended to be a part of a culture they didn’t understand. Neither compromised, even as they changed, and that can be said of very few rock stars.

In honor of the two lost heroes, metalhead YouTuber Andy Rehfeldt posted the following tribute, “Ace of Space,” a mash-up of Bowie and Lemmy’s most famous hits. The combination feels a little forced at moments, but the charge of the post-liftoff moment is really incredible.
